The breakout star of the last Giro d’Italia – where he finished second overall after wearing the Maglia Rosa for much of the race – the UAE Team Emirates XRG rider has now claimed his 15th victory of the season: staggering numbers for a rider who is only 21 years old.
With his victory With his victory at the 2025 GranPiemonte, Isaac Del Toro once again underlined his special bond with the Piedmont region. Earlier this season he had already claimed Milano-Torino, his first win in what has been a spectacular campaign.
Looking ahead, the Mexican rider is also expected to line up on Saturday at Il Lombardia, most likely in support of his captain Tadej Pogačar, who will be chasing a record fifth straight triumph. Yet given Del Toro’s current form, it’s hardly far-fetched to imagine the team aiming to place two riders on the podium in the season’s final Monument.
