GranPiemonte 2025: route, teams and top riders

02/10/2025

The route of the GranPiemonte presented by Crédit Agricole has been unveiled today. The race, now in its 109th edition, will feature a dynamic course filled with short, punchy climbs — a profile designed for attackersand fast finishers able to hold their own on the uphill sections. The 179-kilometer route runs from Dogliani to Acqui Terme, through the hills of the Langhe and Monferrato.

A total of 20 teams, including 13 UCI WorldTeams, will line up for a high-level international challenge — the final stepping stone before the last Monument Classic of the season, Il Lombardia.

The Route

GranPiemonte 2025, the route

The race has a challenging route with a dozen ascents, both long and short, including Bric della Forma and Rocchetta Palafea before the closing circuit, and Castelletto d’Erro (to be tackled twice), with an 11% kick topping out at 15% in the first part. Startingin Dogliani, the route takes in a long succession of climbs and descents through Cherasco, Barolo, La Morra and Diano d’Alba, then goes over the Bric della Forma, and down to Santo Stefano Belbo. After the Rocchetta Palafea ascent, the route descends intothe final circuit (33 km), to be covered once after passing over the finish line. The circuit, flat at first, takes a tough climb up Castelletto d’Erro followed by a fast-running and technical descent leading to the urban area for the stage finale.

Final kilometres

The final kilometres begin just outside urban Acqui Terme. Past the area of bath complexes, the route crosses the Bormida river and enters the town centre through a straight avenue, on a very slight incline. Next comes an underpass, then a left-hand bend leadsinto the final kilometre, with a few roundabouts along the course. The home stretch (450 m long, on 7.0 m wide asphalt road) has a mild uphill gradient of approx. 4%.
