Egan Bernal wins 103rd GranPiemonte

The Colombian rider Egan Bernal (Team INEOS) has won the 103rd GranPiemonte NamedSport, raced over a 183km route from Agliè to the Sanctuary of Oropa (Biella). The second finisher was Ivan Ramiro Sosa (Team INEOS), while the third to arrive was Nans Peters (AG2R La Mondiale).

 

FINAL RESULT

1 – Egan Bernal (Team INEOS) – 183km in 4h24’16”, average speed 41.548 km/h

2 – Ivan Ramiro Sosa (Team INEOS) at 6″

3 – Nans Peters (AG2R La Mondiale) at 8″.

 

Speaking seconds after the race finish, the winner Egan Bernal said: “I’m very happy. I woke up this morning with the desire to do a good race but winning is always difficult. It’s great to finally win in Italy and a one day race for the first time. In leading me to the climb, Ivan Sosa showed that he was probably the strongest today. We’ve done a great job.”
